Vendor-specific normal ranges (ASE/EACVI 2022)
| Vendor | Normal GLS (mean ± SD) | Lower Limit of Normal |
|---|---|---|
| GE HealthCare (EchoPAC) | −20.2 ± 1.9% | −16.4% |
| Philips (QLAB) | −20.4 ± 2.1% | −16.2% |
| Siemens (syngo.via) | −19.8 ± 2.0% | −15.8% |
| Canon Medical (Aplio) | −20.0 ± 2.0% | −16.0% |

| Vendor-neutral consensus | −20.0 ± 2.0% | −16.0% |
Normal mid-wall GLS is ≥ −17% (less negative than endocardial GLS). Mid-wall strain is more sensitive for subendocardial ischemia and early HCM. Most vendors report this automatically — check your software version.
