EchoAssist™ Navigator — UEA

UEA is indicated when ≥2 contiguous LV segments are not adequately visualised on unenhanced echo (ASE 2018 guideline).

Previous anaphylaxis to any UEA is an absolute contraindication. Mild prior reactions may be pre-medicated.

Definity/Lumason: contraindicated with known or suspected R-to-L shunt. Optison: use with caution.

Severe decompensated HF is a relative contraindication for Definity. Assess clinical stability before proceeding.

Use with caution in the peri-infarct period. Benefit vs. risk assessment required.

Relative contraindication for Definity. Lumason may be used with caution.

Contraindicated in patients on ventilator support or with significant respiratory compromise.

Peripheral IV (18–20G) in antecubital fossa preferred. Avoid hand/wrist veins — higher haemolysis risk.

Emergency cart, oxygen, epinephrine, and staff trained in anaphylaxis management must be present.

Explain the procedure, benefits, and rare risk of serious adverse reactions.

Positioning is essential for optimal LV visualisation.

Baseline vitals required for comparison during and after administration.
